The only clue to its existence is a small sign pointing down the alley—a whisper of secrecy that adds to its allure. For those unfamiliar with the winding alleys of Chinatown, the hunt makes the destination all the more rewarding.

For those who need a route, don't worry Google Maps and I have one for you. To get to HUFU Café, you can take the MRT to Wat Mangkon Station, then exit onto Plaeng Nam Rd or Mangkon Rd. As you stroll through the bustling local markets of Chinatown, feel free to soak in the sights or pick up some treats. When you reach the end of the road at Yaowarat Rd, turn right from Plaeng Nam Rd or left from Mangkon Rd. Keep an eye out for the HUFU Café sign tucked between some food vendors, and then just head down that alley.

I opted for the usual, a Matcha Latte—unsweetened, to really test the quality—and it was a standout. Crafted for just 100 THB (less than $3), it was refreshing, well-balanced, and not bogged down by too much ice— frequent occurrence at more commercial establishments. With all the drinks priced under 200 THB, HUFU Café presents itself as a budget-friendly haven in a district where you could easily spend more than you want to.


The café itself marries natural elements with minimalist charm, creating an inviting, open space that feels larger than it is. The outdoor seating area is a highlight, offering a peaceful retreat amid the bustling backdrop of Chinatown, with a great view of their famous mural. It's a place where the decor, featuring simple furnishing and lush greenery, makes you feel like you're visiting and old friend's home. Almost a sense of tranquility and escape from the rush of Bangkok.

Prices are kept well below what you might expect for such a prime location, making it an exceptional spot for both quality and affordability.
